Printer Map

Using the Printer Map screen, you can set up label and report printers that are local to your workstation. This Parcel feature is referred to as "client-based printing."
Notes:

  • The Workstation menu and the Printer Map menu item are available only when Enable Dynamic Printer is enabled in the Advanced Tab of the Location > Shipper Defaults screen.

  • You must first configure the printers that you want to use for client-based printing and enable ActiveX in your Internet Explorer (IE) browser. For information on this, see the topic Enabling ActiveX for Parcel .

To specify a printer for client-based printing, carry out the following procedure:

  1. Click the Workstation menu and select Printer Map.

  2. Enter the printer details as described in the table below:

    Type the name of the label printer.

    Type

    From the list, select the type of the label printer.

    Printer (Report)

    Type the name of the report printer.


  3. Use one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen as follows

    Click SAVE

    Clear the boxes of all of the information you entered and start over.

    Click CLEAR

    Cancel setting label and report printer.

    Click CANCEL

Customs Workstation Setup

Use this screen to configure your workstation for use with the Export application or the Customs Filing Module (CFM). This screen enables you to configure your workstation with the following settings:

Operating Mode

From the drop-down list, select one of the following options:

  • Ship and Wait – Any shipment sent to Export for processing opens the Export Transaction Status dialog that displays shipment status. No further action can take place on the workstation until processing of the shipment completes. This is the default selection.

  • Ship and Continue – Processing of any shipment sent to Export is suspended for completion at a later time. Optionally, the user can print a label or document for the shipment in this mode. The user can also open the Export Transaction Status dialog at any time to review the status of shipments, as well as complete the processing of shipments.
    Note: The Export Transaction Status dialog can be closed and re-opened as required. Messages displayed by this dialog can be edited.

Suppress Notification

From the drop-down list, select one of the following options:

  • Yes – Suppress notifications during Ship and Wait mode.

  • No – Do not suppress notifications during Ship and Wait mode.
    Note: This option is for use with Export only.

Print Documents Using

From the drop-down list, select one of the following options:

  • Export – Print documents from Export.

  • Parcel – Print documents from Parcel.
    Note: This option is for use with Export only.

Click [SAVE] to save your changes; click CANCEL to cancel changes, or click CLEAR to restore values to the defaults.
