FedExWS SmartPost® Overview
FedExWS SmartPost® is now configured in Parcel as a separate domestic carrier from FedExWS US.

Supported Options
For the following FedExWS SmartPost features:

FedExWS SmartPost supports customer (User) packaging only.

Future Day shipping is available for FedExWS SmartPost shipments.

Packages can only be tracked using the FedExWS tracking Number or USPS tracking number.
FedExWS SmartPost® Additional Services
You can configure the following special services for FedExWS SmartPost on the Warehouse Options screen.
Ancillary Endorsements
FedExWS SmartPost® supports a set of special shipment-level services called Ancillary Endorsements. These are special delivery options specific to FedExWS SmartPost®. Select one of the following values from the Ancillary Endorsement drop-down lists on the Options screen Shipment tab:

Note: These values are passed to the FedExWS Ship Manager Server® when processing a shipment.

FedExWS SmartPost Returns does not provide estimated shipping rates when using the Rating or Shipping Web services.

When FedExWS generates FXSP returns label, FedEx 2D barcode is always included. You continue to have the option to include RMA number in barcode.

Transit times of 2 to 7 business days.
Note: We need 3 carrier instances separately for FedEx Express shipments, FedEx SmartPost Outbound shipments and SmartPost returns having different account numbers.

Supported Origins
FedExWS SmartPost® is available for shipments originating in the 48 contiguous state of the US only. Thus Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Territories are not included as origin points for FedExWS SmartPost®. (These locations are, however, included as possible FedExWS SmartPost® destinations - see the following section.)
Supported Destinations
The FedEx SmartPost service allows delivery to all 50 American States and territories, including PO boxes and military locations (Army Post office - APO, Fleet Post Office - FPO and Diplomatic Post Office - DPO), and Puerto Rico.
FedExWS SmartPost Close

FedExWS SmartPost Close is independent of a FedEx Ground Close.

No reports are returned in the FedExWS SmartPost Close Reply.

Hub Ids are assigned for each shipper not necessarily the nearest ones.
FedExWS SmartPost® Processing a Shipment
To process a FedExWS SmartPost® shipment, follow these steps:

On the Warehouse screen Parcel tab, select a FedExWS SmartPost® carrier in the Carrier list. From the Service drop-down list, select one of the following FedEx SmartPost® services:

FedEx SmartPost® Returns
Contract-only service for high-volume returns (100 average daily volume) that provides a convenient returns method for low-weight residential packages.

In the Weight field, enter the weight of the package.

In the Carrier Packaging Type list, select User Packaging. Then enter the dimensions for the package in the Dimensions fields.

Click OPTIONS\]. On the Shipment tab, do the following:

Select Ancillary Endorsements from the Ancillary Endorsements drop-down lists.

Configure any other desired options specific to FedExWS SmartPost®. (See FedExWS SmartPost® Overview)

Click DONE\] to close the dialog box and return to the Warehouse page.

On the Parcel tab, click ADD\] to add the package to the shipment.
-
Click SHIP\] to ship the package.
-
After the package ships successfully, the FedExWS SmartPost® shipping label prints.
