Adding or Updating Address Group Entries

You can create Address Groups for the Global Address Book from the Parcel UI. For information on other Address Book Group types, see the Note below.
Cautions:

  • It is possible to add addresses from the Personal Address Book into a group created for the Global Address Book. However,e2open, LLC.. recommends that you do not do this, since it may corrupt the database.

  • For similar reasons, e2open, LLC. also recommends that you do not give the same name to different groups belonging to different Address Book types.

Note: Currently, Parcel does not allow users to create Address Groups for addresses in the Personal Address Book. Additionally, you cannot create Address Groups for the Corporate Address Book from within the Parcel UI. This task must be done directly on the Parcel database by a system administrator.
You can perform following actions on a group:

  • Add a new Group (see following table)

  • Edit a Group (see following table)

  • Add an address to a Address Group (see following table)

  • Delete a Group (see following table)

  • Delete an address entry from an Address Group (see following table)

  • Export Groups

To perform actions on a Group, do the following:

  1. Open the Address Book by clicking Search to the right of the customer box on the warehouse page.

  2. Select the Group tab on the Address Book.

  3. Select the address book category tab (Personal, Global, or Corporate) where you want to add the Address Group.

  4. Fill the following information on the Group tab:

    Add a new Group

    1. Type the information in the boxes. Click this link to learn how to complete the boxes.

    2. Click SAVE to save the new Group.

    3. If you then want to select the record for the current shipment, click DONE.

    Select the record as it appears on the Group tab and continue with the shipment.

    Click DONE.

    Close the Address Book dialog box without selecting a group.

    Click CLOSE.

    Update the group record on the Group tab.

    Note: You cannot update records in the Corporate Address Book using this Address Book dialog box.

    1. Edit the information in the boxes as necessary. Click this link to learn how to edit the boxes.

    2. Click SAVE to save your updates to the record in the database.

    3. If you then want to select the record for the current shipment, click DONE.

    Add addresses to an Address Group.

    1. Activate (check) the check boxes next to the addresses in the list that you want to add to the group.

    Note: To select the entire list of addresses, activate the check box next to the header for the addresses.

    2. Activate the ADD TO GROUP check box at the bottom of the right-hand panel, and then, from the drop-down list of groups, select the group to which you want to add the addresses.

    Delete an address from an Address Group.

    1. Select the check box next to the address book entry that needs to be deleted.

    2. Click REMOVE FROM GROUP to remove the address from the Address Group.

    3. Click OK to confirm deletion.

    Deletion of an address from the Address Group does not result in deletion of the address from the Address Book.

    Delete the group from the database.

    Click DELETE. By deleting a group, all the addresses in the group get deleted.

    Clear all of the fields of the Group tab and start over.

    Click CLEAR.
