After Brexit, which is effective starting on January 1, 2021, the United Kingdom is not a part of EU.

Brexit Compliances Updates

Shipment movement between the United Kingdom and EU or vice versa will be treated as an international shipment and customs declarations are required.

• A Commercial Invoice data will be required to pass electronically between the United Kingdom and EU.

• The following changes are updated for a ‘No Deal’ Brexit:

▪ The service code of ‘DHL Express Worldwide (Document)’ is updated from DOX to DOC.

▪ The DHL Express Worldwide (ECX) and DHL Economy Select Non-Dutiable (ESU) services will no longer be used for the shipping between the United Kingdom and EU countries.

▪ For all the Dutiable/Non-Dutiable shipments between the United Kingdom and EU or vice versa, a Payor will be required to pay the duties and taxes for customs clearance and billing purposes. And for ‘Documents Only’ shipments, a Payor still will no longer pay the duties and taxes.

For Special Service...

Description

Fuel Surcharge

Surcharge added to the shipping charges for fuel costs incurred in processing and delivering a shipment.

Note: Application of the fuel surcharge is automatic. There is no option to select.

GoGreen Carbon Neutral

The carbon-neutral GoGreen products and services offset the carbon emissions generated by any standard product or service, such as shipping, printing, or site operations.

With DHL GoGreen services, all transport-related emissions of carbon dioxide are calculated and then offset through internal and external carbon-reduction projects.

Customers pay an additional 3% "green premium" on top of standard delivery charges, and DHL calculates the carbon emissions generated by transporting each shipment and then offsets these emissions by reinvesting in certified carbon management programs, such as alternative vehicle fuel technology, solar panels, and reforestation projects.

Notes:

If you have a GoGreen account arranged with DHL, this charge is automatically applied. There is no option to select.

For more information, see the DHL Web page on the GoGreen program and the online PDF describing GoGreen services.

GoGreen Carbon Footprint

This DHL GoGreen program guides customers through the processes they need to optimize and offset their carbon emissions.

GoGreen Carbon Estimate

DHL can create a carbon report that provides customers with information for designing their own carbon reduction strategies.
