Overview

A UPS Access Point is a participating retail outlet, such as a grocery store that serves as a convenient and efficient UPS parcel delivery and retrieval location. Allows shipper to send packages to a retail location for the customer to come and pick up the shipment.

How It Works

If you elected to have your parcel delivered to a UPS Access Point location at the time of ordering your goods, you will receive a notification alert via email or SMS when the parcel has arrived and is ready for collection.  

Easy Returns and Package Drop Off

You can drop off any package with a UPS prepaid label at a designated UPS Access Point location. Depending on what time of day you drop off your package, it will be safely stored at the UPS Access Point location and collected the same or next working day by UPS.

Supported Services

All Parcel services currently supported with UPS Access Point hold service except WorldWide Express Freight (IEXF).

Billing Types

UPS Access Point Hold Service supports the following billing types:

•Prepaid

•Third Party

•Split Duty & Tax

•Free Domicile

Notes:

•For countries : Austria, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland only Prepaid, Third Party and Free Domicile are allowed as the billing type for Access Point hold service shipments.

•For any destination countries, Consignee Billed and Freight Collect are not allowed as the billing type for Access Point hold service shipments.  

Packaging Types

UPS U.S. Origin includes the following packaging type:

•User packaging

•10 KG box

•25 KG box

•Express Box

•Express Letter

•Pak

•Tube

Package Validations

•Package weight must be less than or equal to 20 kg / 44 lbs.

•Longest side of a package(length) must be less than or equal to 97 cm / 38 in.

•Maximum length plus girth is 330 cm / 130 in. Girth is twice the width plus twice the height.

Notes:

•Weight Rules are applied per package, not on the total shipment weight.

•If a package has an actual weight and a dimensional weight, the validation is based on the actual package weight.

Rating  

•All Access Point hold shipments are processed as commercial (non-residential) shipments.

•Access Point hold service surcharge is applied once per shipment: The charge is included in the total transportation charge for determining “transportation related surcharges”.  

Labels and Supported Printers

Parcel supports the following label format for UPS Access Point Hold Service (U.S Origin):

• PNG, Zebra, DataMax and Intermec - Label size is 4" X 4.5" inch Smart Label.

Note: For UPS U.S. Origin, UPS Access Point hold service shipment cannot be included in any End of Day Consolidation.
