UPS - Shipper Release Special Service

Scroll

The Shipper Release Special Service allows the UPS driver to leave a package without the recipient’s signature on the first delivery attempt.

Details:

Available with domestic services only (includes Puerto Rico destination).

Not allowed with Signature Required services, Returns services, any C.O.D., or Declared Value > $999.00.

Currently, there is no charge for this Special Service.

The following text appears at the bottom of UPS labels for packages with this Special Service: Attention UPS Driver: SHIPPER RELEASE.

Shipments may contain a mix of Shipper Release and non-Shipper Release packages. Non-Shipper Release packages will be subject to the UPS Driver Release procedure.

By selecting Shipper Release, the shipper waives all claims against UPS for damages or losses that might occur after the package is delivered. However, if the package was delivered to the wrong address and is unrecoverable, it is eligible for claim issuance and payment.

To select Shipper Release while processing a UPS package on the Warehouse page, click [OPTIONS]. On the Shipment tab, select the Shipper Release check box.
