Overview

FedEx Priority Alert® and FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM are contract service options that can be applied with certain FedEx domestic and international services. (See the following lists for specific services.) With FedEx Priority Alert®, Packages and shipment status are monitored electronically 24/7 by a support group to ensure each package reaches its destination on time. Customers typically use FedEx Priority Alert®to ship critical materials for the financial, aerospace, electronics, manufacturing, and healthcare industries where timing and visibility are critical.

FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM goes one step further to provide proactive recovery. Designed primarily for healthcare industry requirements, FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM includes added services to preserve critical shipments, including dry ice replenishment, gel pack reconditioning, and access to cold storage to help keep safe shipments requiring a given temperature range to protect the contents during the entire shipment process.

FedEx Priority Alert®and FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM are available for the following services.

Domestic:

FedEx First Overnight®

FedEx Priority Overnight®

FedEx First Overnight® Freight

FedEx 1Day® Freight

International:

FedEx International Priority®

FedEx International Priority® Freight

FedEx Europe First®

FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution®

Notes:

FedEx Priority Alert® and FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM are not available with Bill Third Party or C.O.D.

You can process only single-package shipments with FedEx Priority Alert® or FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM.

Specifying FedEx Priority Alert® or FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM

To specify FedEx Priority Alert® or FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM with a shipment:

1.On the Warehouse page, on the Parcel tab, fill out the appropriate information and select FedEx from the Carrier drop-down list.

2.Select the appropriate service from the Services drop-down list (see the previous lists of services that support FedEx Priority AlertTM and FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM).

3.In the Weight field, enter the weight of the package.

4.Select the carrier or user packaging type you are using to ship the package.

5.Click [OPTIONS].

6.Select the FedEx Add. Services tab, and then select the FedEx Priority Alert® sub-tab.

7.From the FedEx Priority Alert® drop-down list, select one of the following contract services:

FedEx Priority Alert®

FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM

8.Enter a description of the contents of the package in the Package Content Info 1 and Package Content Info 2 text boxes.

9.Click [DONE] to close the Options dialog box and return to the Warehouse page.

10.On the Parcel tab, click [ADD] to add the package to the shipment.

11.Click [SHIP] to ship the package. After the package ships successfully, Parcel displays and prints the FedEx shipping label. Note that *PA or *PAP appears on the shipping label for FedEx Priority Alert® or FedEx Priority Alert PlusTM respectively.
