DHL - Processing Liquid Packaging

Scroll

You can use a special type of DHL packaging called a "Lab Pack" to ship laboratory specimens. The Lab Pack is a specially-designed vinyl envelope measuring 13.5 by 18 inches.

In Parcel, use the Liquid Packaging service option when you want to ship a DHL package containing a Lab Pack.

To process a U.S. origin International DHL package with the Liquid Packaging service option, carry out the following procedure:

1.Complete the required information on the Warehouse page for a domestic package. Select DHL in the Carrier list. Select a non-letter Air service in the Service list.

2.Click [OPTIONS]. On the Shipment tab, select the Liquid Packaging check box.

If the Lab Pack contains materials classified as dangerous goods, you also must complete the required sub-tabs on the Dangerous Goods tab. See the Help topic Processing U.S. Origin International Dangerous Goods for details about completing the Dangerous Goods sub-tabs.

3.Click [DONE] to close the Options dialog box.

4.On the Warehouse page, click [ADD] to add the package to the shipment, then click [SHIP] to ship it.

5.After the package ships successfully, you can view the charges for the package by clicking the total freight amount hyperlink at the end of the shipment message at the top of the page. The charge for liquid packaging service appears as 'Liquid Packaging Charge'.
