New Carriers

The following new or enhanced carriers are available in Flagship:

•FedEx SmartPost – Postal consolidation carrier now configured as a separate carrier in Flagship using integration with FedEx Ship Manager® Server version 10.x.

•Newgistics – Postal consolidation carrier with capability for multi-leg shipments; Flagship carrier module includes separating First Leg Shipments to Newgistics hubs.

•TNT Express – Implemented using the TNT ExpressConnect Web service with core international and domestic services supported by ExpressConnect for worldwide shipments from over two dozen countries of origin in the European region.

•UPS Europe – Now supports domestic and international services for shipments from over 30 countries of origin in the EU and other parts of Europe to destinations worldwide.

New Features and Functionality

This section describes the new features and functionality in the current release.

Miscellaneous

•Alternate Return Address/Alternate Remittance Address – The addition of these two sub-tabs to the Return To tab on the Warehouse and User Profile screens enables the user to specify separate addresses on these tabs.

•Capability for DHL Europe services file import and configuration – Flagship now imports a set of services, routes, and rating files for DHL Europe, enabling the user to configure services as required for specific locations/countries of origin in Europe and the United Kingdom.

•User-maintained Time in Transit capability – Users can now create and import their own sets of data files for Time in Transit calculations for Newgistics and TNT Express.

•Support for FedEx FSMS server v. 10.x – Flagship 4.0 supports only FedEx FSMS v. 10.x and now has the capability to (optionally) capture all data returned by the FSMS 10.x server for analysis, use with B-rules, and inclusion in reports.

Support for UPS 2009/2010 Global BRD Initiatives

The following major features, functions, and enhancements are incorporated in this release of Flagship in support of the UPS 2009/2010 Global BRD initiatives:

•UPS Online® Tools Registration – Customer access keys for the UPS Online® Tools Web service can now be obtained using the Flagship Configuration (Web Admin) tool. A UPS Online® Tools account gives shippers access to the UPS Ground Freight Rating service (see following item), as well as time in transit and tracking capabilities.

•UPS Ground Freight Rating – New UPS service that offers shippers LTL rates for UPS Ground small parcel shipments.

•Worldwide Data Validation/Data Distribution – Facilitates validation of services, package types, accessorials, and billing options using a set of data files distributed by UPS that can be imported into Flagship.

•Miscellaneous updates to services, rating, billing, and rules – These include Dimensional Weight Divisor updates, Large Package Surcharge, Saturday Return Delivery option, Worldwide Service expansion, Rate Zone service enhancements, Third Part Billing, weight limits, and regulatory changes for Dangerous Goods.

•Label Compliance – All applicable labels are updated in according with UPS US, UPS CA, and UPS Europe label specifications, including for Dangerous Goods.
