EOD Grouping for UPS Shipments

Enabling EOD grouping allows shipments that can be grouped but do not qualify for HWT to be grouped into single shipments in the PLD.

Normally, consolidation first groups like shipments. Parcel then attempts to rate each consolidation group as a single HWT shipment. If the grouped shipment qualifies as an HWT shipment, then all the packages from the grouped shipments are moved into one master shipment. When this occurs, only a single shipment is displayed in the PLD that contains all the packages from all the shipments in the group. If, however, the group does not qualify for HWT, the shipments remain as multiple shipments with their associated packages that are uploaded in the PLD.

With EOD Grouping is enabled, as long as the grouping is a legitimate consolidation regardless of whether or not the grouped shipment qualifies for HWT, all the packages for the shipments within the group are placed in a single master shipment and displayed in the PLD as a single shipment.
