FedEx SmartPost® - Processing a Shipment

To process a FedEx SmartPost® shipment, follow these steps:

1.On the Warehouse screen Parcel tab, select a FedEx SmartPost® carrier in the Carrier list. From the Service drop-down list, select one of the following FedEx SmartPost® services:

FedEx SmartPost Parcel Select

For packages that qualify as Parcel Select by the U.S. Postal Service.

SSBM

FedEx SmartPost® Media

For packages that qualify as Media Mail by the U.S. Postal Service.

SSBB

FedEx SmartPost® Bound Printed Matter

For packages that qualify as Bound Printed Matter by the U.S. Postal Service.

SSTA

FedEx SmartPost presorted standard

For packages (typically commercial mass mailings) that qualify for Standard A treatment.

SRET

FedEx SmartPost® Returns

Contract-only service for high-volume returns (100 average daily volume) that provides a convenient returns method for low-weight residential packages.

2.In the Weight field, enter the weight of the package. The weight must be at least 6 oz.  

3.In the Carrier Packaging Type list, select User Packaging. Then enter the dimensions for the package in the Dimensions fields.

4.Click [OPTIONS]. On the Shipment tab, do the following:

a.If the package weight is less than 1 pound, select Ancillary Endorsements from the Ancillary Endorsements drop-down lists.

b.Configure any other desired options specific to FedEx SmartPost®. (See FedEx SmartPost® Overview.)

c.Click [DONE] to close the dialog box and return to the Warehouse page.

5.On the Parcel tab, click [ADD] to add the package to the shipment.

6.Click t[SHIP] to ship the package.

7.After the package ships successfully, the FedEx SmartPost® shipping label prints.
