FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® - Processing a Shipment

Refer to the FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® - Process Overview topic for an explanation of the overall process for a FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® shipment.

1.On the Warehouse page, complete all of the required information for an international shipment as follows:

a.On the Receiver tab, enter the address information for the recipient of the first child package in the shipment.

b.On the Parcel tab, in the Carrier list, select FedEx. In the Service list, select International Priority  Distribution.

c.On the Parcel tab, in the Weight field, enter the weight of the first child package in the shipment.

d.On the Parcel tab, select the carrier or user packaging of the first child package in the shipment.

e.Complete the Items and INTL tabs.  

2.On the Parcel tab, click [OPTIONS].

3.On the Shipment tab, enter the FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® Customer Invoice Number if you have one (this is not required).

4.Select the FedEx Add. Services tab.

5.Click FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® at the top of the tab.

6.Complete the information on the tab as follows:

Type the Importer of Record contact name (not required)

VAT Number

Enter the Value Added Tax number of the Importer of Record (not required)

Facility

Type the code of the FedEx IOR (Customs Clearance) Facility where the shipment will clear Customs in the destination. This must match an IOR code set up in your FedEx Ship Manager® Server. This IOR code is linked to a Customs Clearance Facility address.

Commodity Purpose

From the drop-down list, select one of the following options to calculate duties and taxes by Canada customs. It can be used at the MAWB level or at the individual commodity level.

Account Number

Enter an account number for duties and taxes. (required)

7.Click [DONE] to return to the Warehouse page.

8.On the Parcel tab, click [ADD] to add the child package to the shipment.

9.Click [SHIP] to ship it.

10.To add another child package to this FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® shipment (if it is for the same Importer of Record), repeat Steps 1 through 9. In Step 6, make sure you type the same IOR code that you typed for the master package. There must be at least two packages in each FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® shipment.

11.At the end of the shipping day, be sure to close FedEx before the force close time setting configured on your FedEx Ship Manager® Server. If you selected the Auto Confirm FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® check box in the Parcel Confirmation Tool (FedEx Account Defaults - Ship Tab), you do not need to confirm the FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® shipments in Parcel before closing FedEx.
