Flagship 6.0.002 - 2017 Rate Change 1

The following carriers are updated with Rates and Service for 2017 in Flagship 6.0.002:

Canada Post – Rates and services changes go into effect on January 16, 2017. See the Canada Post Overview of Changes Web page for more information.

UPS – Changes to UPS US, UPS Canada, UPS Europe and Asia/Pacific and UPS SurePost rates and services take place on December 26, 2016. For UPS US and UPS Canada, compliance updates for dimensional weight rating (US domestic and SurePost) and additional handling updates for all UPS modules take place on January 8, 2017.

Canada Post

Canada Post is updating the Origin-Destination matrix with 45 rate zones, replacing the current 32 rate zones for Generic rate customers. However, customers that have Custom (non-Generic) rates can continue to access the current 32 rate zone matrix. In order to facilitate this change, Flagship now supports the following rate types:

Generic (default) – Customers that use generic (published) rates in 2016 and will continue to use generic (published) rates after January 16, 2017 must select this option.

Non-Generic – Customers that use custom rates in 2016 and whose contract only expires after January 16th 2017, must select this option. Non-generic rates will always use 32 rate zones. Custom rates will have to be reloaded. Please contact BluJay Solutions Support to load custom rates.

Custom – Customers that use new custom rates which are effective after January 16, 2017, must select this option. Custom rates must be loaded. Contact BluJay Solutions Support for information on and assistance with loading Canada Post custom rates.

Note: To configure these rates in Flagship, select the rate type from the Rate Type drop-down list on the following configuration screen for a Canada Post (CAPO) carrier: Shipper Defaults > Account tab. Customers using Custom rates first need to select Non-Generic for this configuration, and then reload their Custom rates (see previous bullet).

Flagship also includes the following Rate Change updates for Canada Post:

Effective from January 16, 2017, if the Declared Value for a Canada Post shipment equals or exceeds $200, a signature is required. On the Flagship Warehouse Options screen under Special Services, the check box for this requirement is mandatory. Flagship validates this requirement. Note that the Priority™ service includes the Signature option as part of this service; however, if additional liability is purchased for a shipment with a value of $200.00 or greater, the user must still select the signature option.

Canada Post is discontinuing the Priority Service to any Air Stage Points destinations, effective beginning January 16, 2017.

UPS

UPS US, UPS Canada, UPS Europe and UPS Asia/Pacific

Flagship supports the following rates and services changes for UPS:

Updated rates, zones and accessorials changes for all UPS origins (U.S., Canada, and Europe/Asia-Pacific, as well as for UPS SurePost) are effective from December 26, 2016.

For the 50 US states and Puerto Rico domestic services, when computing dimensional weight, a published dimensional weight divisor is used. This divisor varies based on cubic package size. Packages greater than 1,728 cubic inches will use 139 as a divisor. Packages less than or equal to 1,728 cubic inches will continue to use a divisor of 166.

An Additional Handling Surcharge will apply to any package with the longest side exceeding 48 inches (instead of 60 inches as previously) for all Ground, Air, and International packages effective from January 8, 2017.

Additional Handling Surcharges for UPS SurePost are effective from January 8, 2017.

UPS US

Due to changes in these values, the default values have been removed from the following UPS Shipper Defaults tabs and fields:

Defaults tab – Dim Factors section:

 - Letter Weight (LBS)

 - Canada

 - Domestic

 - International

Dimensional Weight tab – Divider section

 - UPS Ground PR to US

 - UPS Standard to Canada

 - UPS Ground US to PR

 - UPS Ground

Important Note: UPS now requires that the SurePost Dimensional Weight threshold be set to 0 (zero) unless you have a custom contract with UPS to use a different value. You can update this value on the UPS SurePost Account Defaults > Account tab under the “Accessorial Charges” section.

UPS Canada

Flagship now supports three UPS Express Boxes for UPS Canada – Small, Medium and Large.
