Features and Enhancements Supported in this Release

New Features and General Enhancements

The following major enhancements are included in Parcel 17.2.000:

•Support for Internet Explorer version 11.

•Support for Windows Server 2012 R2.

•Support for SQL Server 2012 for SOR.

•Support for the latest versions of Apache, PHP and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) as follows:

        - Apache version 2.4.25
        - PHP version 7.1.2
        - JRE version 1.8.0_92

•Universal Carrier Module (UCM) v. 17.2, including a new pre-configured carrier.

•Control Tower Integration – Improved package tracking capability.

•Customs Filing Module enhancements.

•New End of Day process to close, upload and print documents in a single operation.

•XML API improvements.

•Rate Shop and special services are now available.

•Enhanced client-side printing to include label data response.

•Ability to store custom rates by Account Number.

Carrier Specific Enhancements

The following carrier-specific enhancements are included in Parcel 17.2.000

USPS

•Parcel now stores rates based on the Account Number selected from the Carrier drop-down menu on the Parcel tab and displays the estimated rates (List rates/Account specific rates) from US and Puerto Rico origins to US, Canada, Puerto Rico and International destinations/zones with specific account numbers, various date ranges, weights and services.

•The following fields are added to the Rate table: shipper_no, effective_date, expiry_date and rate_type.

Canada Post

•Parcel now supports Canada Post domestic services within Canada only.

•Canada Post has introduced the following separate fuel surcharges for domestic services, configurable with the Parcel Web Admin Tool:

Note: These surcharge percentages are set monthly by Canada Post.

UPS  

•Parcel now stores rates based on the Account Number selected from the Carrier drop-down menu on the Parcel tab and displays the estimated rates (List rates/Account specific rates) from US and Puerto Rico origins to US, Canada, Puerto Rico and International destinations/zones with specific account numbers, various date ranges, weights and services.

•The following fields are added to the Rate table: shipper_no, effective_date, expiry_date and rate_type.

•For a UPS carrier, Parcel has updated the calculation method for Residential Surcharge to include or exclude in the base cost for US and Puerto Rico origins based on the Y/N Shipper Defaults setting in the database.

•The BASIC SUMMARY Report is removed from the Document drop-down list on the Reports screen.

DHL Global  

•Support for U.S. origins with the following services:

•Parcel now supports U.S. origins for DHL Global XML-PI

•For U.S. origins, 4x8 inch all thermal label stock.

 

Parcel 17.2.000 - 2018 Rate Change 1

The following carriers are updated with Rates and Service for 2018 Rate Change 1 in BluJay Solutions Parcel Version 17.2.000:

•Canada Post – Rates and services changes go into effect on January 15, 2018. For more information, see the Canada Post Overview of Changes Web page.

•UPS - Changes to UPS US (including Puerto Rico and Hawaii), UPS SurePost and UPS Canada rates and services take place on December 24, 2017. And for UPS Europe and Asia/Pacific take place on December 25, 2017.

Canada Post

BluJay Solutions Parcel supports the following rates and services changes for Canada Post:

 

•Effective from January 15, 2018, the Domestic Rates and Generic (45 rates zones) and Non Generic (32 code rates) has been updated.

•Effective from January 15, 2018, the Density Factor for Expected Parcel Service is changed from 6,000 to 5,000 for metric units and from 166 to 139 for Imperial units.

Note: The Density Factor for Regular Parcel Service will remains at 6,000.

•The Air Stage listing has been updated for 2018.

 

UPS  

UPS US (including Puerto Rico and Hawaii)

BluJay Solutions Parcel supports the following rates and services changes for UPS:

•Updated rates, zones and accessorial changes for all UPS US origins (including Puerto Rico and Hawaii) are effective from December 24, 2017.

•For Puerto Rico domestic service, the package types, such as ‘UPS 25 KG Box ®’ and ‘UPS 10 KG Box ®’ are not allowed, effective from December 24, 2017.

•The LPS (Large Package Surcharge) will apply to any package with a length exceeding 96 inches or length plus girth greater than 130 inches for all U.S. Domestic packages effective from December 24, 2017.

•For the 50 US states and Puerto Rico domestic services, when computing dimensional weight, a published dimensional weight divisor is used. This divisor varies based on cubic package size. Packages less than or equal to 1,728 cubic inches will use 139 as a divisor are effective from December 24, 2017.

UPS US

The UPS Domestic Accessorial - Delivery Area Surcharge for ‘Hundredweight’ service in 2018 is available in various types. BluJay Solutions Parcel supports

all the following various types of ‘Hundredweight’ services.

•Hundredweight-Ground Extended Commercial

UPS SurePost

•Updated rates, zones and accessorial changes for UPS SurePost, effective from December 24, 2017.

UPS Canada

•Updated rates, zones and accessorial changes for UPS Canada, effective from December 24, 2017.

UPS Europe and Asia/Pacific

•Updated rates and zones changes for UPS Europe and Asia/Pacific are effective from December 25, 2017.

•PS Form 3600-PM – Priority Mail (Page 1, Parts F & S).

•PS Form 3605-R – Package Services (Page 1, Part C, E & S).
