Use the Account tab on the Newgistics Account Defaults screen to enter the account information for this Newgistics account.

Mailer ID |
Type the Mailer ID assigned to you by the US Post Office. |
Location ID |
This field is read-only. It displays the location ID entered when you set up the location under which this carrier is configured. Note that this value is the same as the Shipper ID. Parcel automatically populates this field with the location ID. |
Client ID |
Type the Client ID assigned to this account by Newgistics. |
Origin Facility ID |
Type the Origin Facility ID assigned to this account by Newgistics. |
Induction Facility ID |
Type the Induction Facility ID assigned to this account by Newgistics. Note: This Hub ID setting is mandatory and is linked to the values supplied by Newgistics that enable the import of the rate and route file. The Newgistics file containing the Induction Facility ID is a CSV file of the form: AccountNumber_InductionHubID_Service_Rates.csv |
Rate Origin Code |
This field is read-only. It displays the origin ZIP code for Parcel to use for rating purposes. Parcel automatically populates this field with the ZIP code entered for the shipper's location under which this Newgistics carrier is configured. Note: The Rate Origin Code is determined as follows: •It is the ZIP code of the customer's ship from location if Newgistics contracts with a third party carrier to pick up the shipment at this location. •It is the ZIP code of the Newgistics hub if the customer delivers the shipment to the Newgistics hub Caution: You must ensure that the value in this field represents the correct Rate Origin Code before importing your Newgistics rates using the Import Files screen. |
Dimensional Factor |
Type any USPS-negotiated Dimensional Factor to be applied to package volume for Priority Mail only if different from the default of 194; otherwise, do not edit this field and accept the default. Parcel uses the dimensional factor to calculate rates. |
Balloon Weight |
Type any USPS-negotiated weight in pounds for the balloon rate only if different from the default of 20; otherwise, do not edit this field and accept the default. Parcel uses this value to rate shipments by a Newgistics carrier. Note: USPS applies the standard 20-pound balloon rate to certain services as follows: •For Parcel Post, pieces measuring over 84 inches in combined length and girth, but not more than 108 inches in combined length and girth, and weighing less than 20 pounds are mailable at the price equal to that of a 20-pound parcel for the zone to which the parcel is addressed (balloon rate). •For Priority Mail, pieces addressed for delivery to zones 1-4 (including local) and weighing less than 20 pounds but measuring more than 84 inches in combined length and girth are charged the price for a 20-pound parcel for the zone to which it is addressed. |
Fuel Surcharge % |
This field is read-only. It displays the fuel surcharge as a percent for Parcel to apply to a package; for example: 20.00 for 20%. Note: Fuel surcharge is a package-level fee based on a fuel surcharge percentage that is set monthly by Newgistics. This fuel surcharge percentage is applied on a per mail piece basis. |
Customer Charge |
Depending on the Customer Charge Type (see preceding row), type any customer charge to be added to a shipment (in addition to other accessorials such as Freight Charge) as follows: •If the Customer Charge is a fixed amount, type the amount to two decimal places (without the currency symbol). For example, if the Customer Charge is the fixed amount of $4.00, type 4.00. •If the Customer Charge is a percentage of the shipment cost, type the percentage to two decimal places without the percent sign (%). For example, if the Customer Charge is 10%, type 10.00. |
Customer Charge Type |
From the drop-down list, specify whether customer charge is to be taken as a fixed amount or a percentage amount: •Fixed •Percentage Note: When you specify Customer Charge Type and Customer Charge (following row) on the Account Defaults Account tab, Parcel automatically populates these fields on the Warehouse Options screen for a Newgistics shipment with these values. |
Print Documents on Close |
Select (check) this check box to specify default automatic printing of documents when a Newgistics shipment is closed. Note: You can change this option for specific Newgistics shipments on the popup Close dialog when you close a Newgistics shipment. |
No. of Copies for Documents |
Type the default number of copies of documents to be printed if the Print Documents on Close check box (previous row) is selected. Note: You can change this number for specific Newgistics shipments on the popup Close dialog when you close a Newgistics shipment. |
Click [SAVE] in the lower-right corner of the screen to save the changes or click [CANCEL] to revert to previous values.
